About Eurostar
Eurostar (also known as the Chunnel) is the only international train to connects the capital cities of England, France and Belgium, and travels at a maximum speed of 186 mph with 16 daily services to Paris, up to 13 departures to Brussels and up to 15 trains stopping at Lille. With its efficient service and check-in time of just 30 minutes, Eurostar is now one of the most popular and convenient ways to travel - depart from the futuristic, international Eurostar train station in central London, and after a couple of hours you'll arrive in the centre of Paris or Brussels refreshed, relaxed and ready to go!
The design and train size enables Eurostar to carry as many passengers as two jumbo jets through the chunnel, in relaxed and comfortable surroundings. Each Eurostar train has 18 cars - 1 for Premium First Class, 5 for First Class, 10 for Standard Class and 2 bar cars. Onboard, the bar cars carry a large selection of snacks and drinks - where you can socialize or watch the scenery rush by. All Eurostar trains have dedicated areas for people traveling in wheelchairs, as well as special restrooms.
To ensure total comfort and security during the journey, all Eurostar passengers follow a boarding process - check in, security and passport control. After completing these you can relax in the departure area, have lunch in one of the cafes, or do some duty free shopping before boarding the Eurostar train to your pre-assigned seat.
Standard Departure lounges - With usually no more (and sometimes a lot less) than a half hour needed for check-in, you can afford a sit-down. Or perhaps a spot of shopping. Or something to eat. Or even a nice glass of Pinot Grigio. All you have to do is get here and we’ll take care of the rest. Eurostar is delighted to now offer travelers wireless broadband Internet access.
Business Premier Lounges - The lounge at St Pancras International is a stunning mixture of Victorian architecture and contemporary comfort, unlike anything you’ve seen before., while the Business Premier lounges in Brussels and Paris were designed as “a rediscovery of the romantic essence of rail travel, when travelling by rail was a pleasure. The Business Premier Lounges, with their marble bar counters, free bar, armchairs, newspaper and magazines, internet and complimentary Wi-Fi access and luggage storage help make your trip a pleasure.

Environmental Information
You may already be aware that a Eurostar journey is 10 times less polluting than flying. But Eurostar believe that everyone can do more. So, from 14 November 2007, the day Eurostar open its new London St Pancras International station, they are changing the way they operate as a business.
Eurostar have now launched Tread Lightly, an initiative designed to further reduce its impact on the environment (what scientists call a carbon footprint) and to help all its travelers do the same.
As part of this initiative, they have made a commitment to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by a further 25% per traveler journey by 2012. Consequently they will be making changes across all areas of our business in order to reduce our impact on the environment, from the big things like energy efficiency, paperless ticketing and waste management to smaller cultural changes like recycling in its offices.
Any remaining emissions will be offset, at no cost to its travelers, meaning that from November 14th 2007, Eurostar is proud to offer carbon neutral journeys. (Business Premier & Leisure Select guests should request the vegan meal to keep your journey carbon-neutral.)
